It seems that we are all seeking balance. However, many are looking in the wrong places. What do I mean by that? Before I go further, let's try to define balance. Balance when it comes to our bodies or mental state is defined as bodily equilibrium or more importantly mental and emotional stability. This last part, mental and emotional stability is something that is not only necessary but something we should all strive for. But, how do we do this?
Balance begins with YOU! We seem to be our own worse critics. When we learn to simply let go and learn to enjoy each and every aspect of our lives no matter the adversities, balance will be attainable. Notice how I mentioned adversities? Our lives never seem to be devoid of adversities but it's those individuals that tend to handle the adversities in a certain manner that can attain the balance we all seek.
Adversities can come in all shapes and sizes and I'm not here to tell you what is or isn't an adversity, trial or difficult situation, but I am here to tell you that it all begins with YOU! Our mind is very, very powerful. If we think that we can't do something or achieve something, guess what? We more than likely won't. Instead, if we attempt and work our hardest at achieving what we may think is impossible you may be pleasantly surprised. We've all heard or read of the stories of individuals that have accomplished near impossible feats when many thought they couldn't. Was that because they were physically stronger? Many times, physical strength is the least component, the mind is much stronger and it's amazing what it can accomplish.
This can be easily seen in us at a very young age. What can be seen? The willpower and strength of our mind. Have you ever witnessed a toddler learning to walk? They try and fall, try and fall until finally they try again and they are not only walking but running! What happens to us? We are all born with that willingness to achieve greatness. You guessed it, those darn adversities get in the way. I'm here to tell you that you can push past those negative thoughts and achieve balance. You can do it! It may not happen overnight, but with baby steps, like the toddler, you can achieve balance.
Start with you, give yourself a break. As women and many men, we think that we need to do it all or it will not be done appropriately. Let go and let others help you. You will be amazed at how easy your life will become. Sure you won't have the spotless house or office but guess what, you are on your way to achieving the balance you desire. This works in relationships, business, families and your overall health. Start small and work your way up. Who says you need to be perfect?
Start today by lightening up your schedule. Spend more time with your family or friends. Be sure to make time for YOU! When you find time for you, this is not being selfish but necessary for your entire health. Not only will you be healthier but your relationships and your business will also be healthier. Stop searching outwardly for the balance and start looking within yourself, you'll be amazed at what you'll find.
