Yet a New Term: The Scuppie (Socially Conscious Upwardly-mobile Person). Look up at your latest dictionary and try to find the word Scuppie. Is it there? However there is a new lexicon to find there: scuppy. It refers to persons who want to live well and doing good at the same time. So what the problem with combining living well and doing good?

For some urbanistas, they are living well. However, they don’t only want to live well, but also do good (or at least do no evil to any being). Heheh, they still love money and evidently displays the affluence. But now, the way to achieve status is not spending the money to luxury by its own right.

They want to experience luxury with goodness too. It means riding their hybrid car, solar panels put on their home roof, recycled goods they take, and regular visits to organic shops. Affluence is practiced as something friendly with goodness and ethical issues, as possible. Scuppies are trying to be socially conscious and desire upward mobility at the same time. Does it sound possible? You judge.
